One of the most common questions I get asked on my Instagram account is ‘what helps you stay on track and stick to plan?’
Without a doubt the biggest tip I can give is to plan your meals in advance and keep a food diary to document your daily food intake and syns etc.
I have had a food diary since a first started my journey almost 3 years ago and honestly don’t think I would have got to my target weight without it.
Once a week I will sit down and plan my breakfast, lunch and dinner for the week ahead. I try to mix up my meals to keep them interesting.
I then go to the supermarket and do my food shop for the week. This really helps me to keep me organised and on track. It also means I am not having to think on the spot what on plan meals I can have for lunch and what healthy extras I have left as its already planned out for me. (A shopping list is included in the meal diaries)
At the end of everyday I will then fill in my food diary with the days food, adding any extra snacks, syns etc I have had than day.
Keeping your food old food diaries is also a great way to look back on weeks when you have had a good loss or have struggled.
